The NFL stars are mad at Madden 21 by Lora Young

Basic Information:
  • Madden NFL 21, the most popular football video game in the world, has angered a large representation of National Football League champions. The reason is simple: many players disagree with the votes received by the rating officers.

As the best American football simulator on the market, Madden prepares "report cards", evaluating over 3,000 NFL 21 Coins. Each player is judged on more than 50 specific attributes, with a minutiae that surpasses the most detailed multimedia scouting reports. But, while the appraisers of the ratings describe the evaluation process as a real science, which requires deepening and precision, fans and professional players contest the rankings compiled.

This year, the overall player ratings have been lowered to make the game more realistic, and to distinguish football stars from mid-range players. The decision sparked the reactions of many athletes: some campaigned on social networks to ask for a higher score, others went directly to the Madden developer team.

Among the dissatisfied is also Tom Brady, Super Bowl champion and known, among other things, for being the envied husband of supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Brady had an overall score of 96, finishing second among the quarterbacks. Yet he had to complain, posting a funny video on Twitter asking for a better speed rating.

But not everyone has Brady's sense of humor. Keenan Allen, wide receiver of the San Diego Chargers, for example, took it really badly, so much so that he decided to boycott the game after seeing the evaluation received this year.

Fortunately, among the many who protest, there is at least someone happy. DeAndre Hopkins, wide receiver of the All-Pro team, was one of four players to receive an overall score of 99, the highest possible for a Madden player. Hopkins explained that it is more important for his children to see their dad as one of Madden's best players than in the NFL All-Pro team. Having achieved both goals, at least he certainly has nothing to complain about.
