Steamforged Games announced a partnership with producer Jagex in order to launch RuneScape on OSRS Gold tablets later this year. The MMORPG will get not one but two brand new tablestop versions: a game board game and a tabletop rpg game. The board game will launch on Kickstarter later this year while the tabletop RPG will go straight to retailers.

Both games will draw inspiration from RuneScape's fantasy world, Gielinor. They will utilize the characters, adventures, and places they MMORPG has made famous in its long time. The game on the board will take up maximum of 5 players in a mission-based journey across the land of Gielinor.

As per the press release released by Steamforged gamers will "craft and upgrade equipment as well as upskill their characters prepare unique recipes, connect with NPCs, and test their skills while exploring different areas of the world". Similar to the multiplayer MMORPG, players can also find side quests to expand the world of the game.

In addition, the TTRPG will be composed of the beautiful core book that contains all the details needed by players to run an RuneScape TTRPG. It will allow players to build their own characters and go off into the lands of Gielinor to design "unique and thrilling quests". Additionally, the TTRPG base book can be "fully compatible with the ruleset of the fifth edition of the world's most popular role playing tabletop game".

This is the first time that RuneScape is available outside of a digital platform which is something Jagex Chief Executive Officer Phil Mansell is excited about:"After over 21 years of being exclusively available digitally, it's an absolute pleasure to work with Steamforged to develop and bring RuneScape adventure-based tabletop games...I am certain RuneScape and Old School RuneScape players will be thrilled to OSRS Buy Gold play with the miniatures they've been planning to use to create their own adventures."
