  • BOSTON With a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night, the Cleveland did something to Boston that has only been done one other time this season: handed them a third straight lo s. They'll take the field at Fenway Park on Wednesday night looking to push baseball's best team to a fourth straight defeat behind righty Carlos Carrasco. It's game three of four between the two AL foes.Time: 7:10 p.m.Starting Pitchers: CLE Carlos Carrasco (15-6, Bobby Hart Jersey 3.33) vs. BOS Brian Johnson (4-3, 4.00)TV: SportsTime OhioOnline: Radio: WTAM 1100 AM, WMMS 100.7 FM, Indians Radio NetworkNotes:1) Good luck against CarrascoScroll to Continue After wins in each of the first two games of this series, the Indians are in a good position to clinch a series win with Carlos Carrasco on the mound. The righty, so affectionately known as Cookie, has a 4-1 record and a spectacular 1.33 ERA in his six starts since the All-Star break. Now, for what it's worth, those numbers have come largely Kevin Byard T Shirts against the bottom feeders of baseball. Over that span, three of Carrasco wins came against the Texas Rangers (the fifth worst team in the AL), the White Sox (the third worst team in the AL) and the Orioles (the worst team in baseball). He also earned a win and took a lo s to Minnesota, which currently sits five games under .500. So while the 31-year-old has certainly found a groove, none of those teams are the Red Sox. Forgetting how special that team is this year, historically, Carrasco struggled against Boston anyway. In seven appearances against the Red Sox, including five starts, Carrasco has just a 1-2 record, has yielded 21 earned runs and has a 6.83 ERA. In Fenway more specifically, he is 0-1 and has a 7.07 ERA in four appearances. Those are his highest ERAs against any single opponent or in any single ballpark for his career. Tonight, he'll look to exorcise those demons though and clinch a series win for the Tribe.2) Greg Allen providing a spark A month ago the Indians were in desperate need of an outfielder that could provide some offense and acquired one at the trade deadline in Leonys Martin. Then came that extremely troubling bacterial infection that landed Martin in the hospital battling for his life. Good news is he's alright, but with no timetable for his return to baseball, Cleveland needed someone to step up. Enter, Greg Allen. Since being recalled from Columbus on August 9, Allen has provided a major spark for the Tribe. In 12 games this month, Allen has a slashline of .375/.907/.475 Tennessee Titans Hats , has 15 total hits and has driven in six. Both of his two extra base hits this month a double and a home run have come against the Red Sox this week, as have three of his Nick Dzubnar Jersey RBI. Just as the Indians hoped, Allen has filled the role of everyday center fielder beautiful of late and it's not a coincidence that they're 10-2 since he joined the roster. Oh, his defense has also been something special. Check out this pair of web gems from last night...3) A weakne s exposed? The Red Sox have been far and away the best team in baseball, but August has maybe put some chinks in their nearly impenetrable armor. For starters, no pun intended here, lefty ace Chris Sale has landed on the DL twice this month with shoulder inflammation. And while the team has said it's more of a precautionary move than anything, it still doesn't bode well for Boston with the postseason looming. This week has also brought the ball club just their second three-game losing streak of the season. A third-straight lo s to Cleveland tonight would make that four a first for Boston in 2018 and it would also serve as the squad's first series lo s since mid-June. August has also exposed a potential weakne s with Isaiah Wilson Jersey the Red Sox in their recent inability to hit opponents bullpen arms. Boston's bread and butter all season has been jumping on team's starters early and cruising to victory, evident by their 60-10 record when scoring first. Facing team's with deep bullpens, however, hasn't gone so well. Over their last 18 innings against their opponent's relievers, Boston has scored just three runs. That includes one run off of Indians closer Josh Allen in the first game of this series. All this doesn't mean the wheels are falling off for Boston. But late August, into September isn't exactly the best time for these struggles to rear their ugly head.
