I'm not certain if there is a way of separating the essence of what makes Diablo enjoyable from the mechanics of free to play revenue Diablo IV Gold. If there such a thing, Blizzard and NetEase have not found it. They've created a mobile version of Diablo that's slick, enjoyable, and even quite generous at first. But if you spend enough time playing with it, there's no doubt that the core of the game was cut in pieces, sliced up, and sold back to you piecemeal.

Diablo Immortal isn't nearly the same as a free-to-play Diablo could be. The game is a constant assault on your moment with a multitude of microtransactions that come in all kinds of mysterious currencies. You'll need to work your way to win, particularly if you choose not to make a purchase in the game. What you will get for doing this is a weaker and re-cooked version of Diablo II's tale.

Yet, despite its faults, I ultimately enjoyed Diablo Immortal more than I hated it. It has all the things that make the series enjoyable in a way, from its exciting gameplay, endless character customization as well as its strong sense of place, to its endless supply of fascinating loot. It's true that Diablo Immortal even has some clever gameplay twists that I'm hoping Blizzard will keep in place to be used in Diablo IV.

If you worried that F2P mechanics would undercut Diablo Immortal Your fears were justifiable. The game's control system is quite different depending on whether you play the PC or mobile, but the basic concept is the identical.
