Basic Information:

  • When winter comes, having a good jacket in your wardrobe is a must. A good coat should be an investment and versatile enough to match everything in your wardrobe. However, with so many to choose from, choosing the right one can seem impossible. To help you decide, we asked the experts which classic coat will get you through the winter, no matter your style.

The leather jacket is a classic because it is a timeless structural element that is still being updated today. It’s stylish, edgy and definitely a jacket with attitude. Leather Jacket How to best style it: Keep the layers minimal with a monotone dark palette of black/grey. Beautifully tailored cropped ankle trousers, low top shoes, paired with a sweater/roll collar, or a shirt and tie for adventure.

If you want to protect yourself during the cold winter months, a jacket, such as a duffle coat, can help keep you warm, even in subzero temperatures. Taking inspiration directly from the British Royal Navy and used by the military during World War I, the duffle coat has become an extremely versatile and stylish outer garment. Fashion houses have all added their own vision and twist to the old duffle coat, giving it a bright makeover or adding patterns like houndstooth and tartan. This particular type of coat has become one of the British favorites. What makes the duffle coat so special is its vintage look, classic three-quarter cut, and minimalist style that goes with any outfit. I recommend pairing a navy duffle jacket a classic neutral would be great if you plan on wearing it every day with a pair of brown/khaki corduroy chinos and a cream turtleneck cable knit jumper and a pair of thick leather boots. Don’t forget to keep a stylish pair of leather gloves in your pocket and a scarf to wrap around your neck for those incredibly chilly mornings.

Along with a sturdy pair of boots, a parka is one of the most durable pieces of clothing you're likely to find in a man's winter wardrobe. The perfect parka must have plenty of pockets, a medium-sized fur collar (not the real thing of course), reinforced zippers/snaps, roomy, and filled with down.
