An optimized Abyss setup can reach around 121 million XP per hour, making it faster than the previous budget Breach method. For players pushing from level 99 to 100 POE currency, this strategy focuses on fast City Square rotations, heavy monster density, and minimal downtime.

Why Abyss Farming Is So Strong

Breach has traditionally been one of the best XP methods, offering both experience and strong currency potential. However, Abyss now provides faster map rotations and enormous monster density. Testing shows roughly 121 million XP per hour, with results varying significantly based on RNG. Level 100 can also be reached in around 76 maps with an optimized setup.

The main goal is simple: enter the map, clear every Abyss encounter, finish the chain, and immediately move to the next map.

Best Maps: T16 Eight-Mod City Square

City Square is ideal because Abyss paths naturally move around the map's outer sections. With strong juicing, players can follow the Abyss around the edges while clearing large monster packs with minimal travel.

Fast builds with high movement speed, such as Shield Charge, Headhunter, or Autobomber-style characters, are particularly effective.

Players should prioritize clearing Abyss pits and finishing the final encounter rather than spending too much time looting. The final Skitterbot chest can provide additional Scarabs and valuable rewards.

The profit is lower than specialized currency strategies, but that trade-off is worthwhile when the goal is reaching level 100 as quickly as possible.

Abyss vs. Breach

Abyss is the better choice for players who prioritize maximum XP per hour and fast mapping. Breach remains attractive for players who want stronger currency generation, Foulborn unique drops, and longer farming sessions for POE currency for sale.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your goal. If level 100 is the priority, the new Abyss strategy is one of the strongest options in PoE 3.29.
